About

Born in Brooklyn, raised in New Jersey, Karine has always had a passion for fashion business. Bred from a Computer Systems Consultant for top fashion companies and an IRS agent who dressed her kids in brands from Neiman Marcus, this career path was destined for her. Her first discovery of her passion was in middle school, shopping in her favorite store: 5 - 7 - 9. Karine would access the product in the store and begin “editing.” Deciding what better colors, sizes, or silhouettes would better suit the customer, a demographic she knew well. As time progressed, Karine learned over time about fashion business and discovered merchandising and buying. However, it wasn’t until the end of her Sophomore year at VCU, that she was advised to transfer to the arts school to major in Fashion Merchandising. The following two years were enlightening and inspiring for Karine as she learned about buying and confirmed her passion. Fast forward to today and she is making her dreams a reality.

In present day, Karine works for PVH Corp’s Calvin Klein as an Assistant Buyer. Karine is also a Culture Lead at the Black Associate Alliance club. This position allows Karine to network with and uplift her associates, collaborate with fashion professionals outside of her workplace, and express her creativity.
