Buying Simulation
My Buying Simulation project was my first glimpse at a buyer's daily tasks. The ultimate objective was to create a strategy to develop a six-month plan to a drive an increase in sales for a fictional department store, Perry's. My partner and I chose to plan for a 4% increase.
To begin, we first visited competitor, Saks Fifth Avenue, in order to gather information about their brick and mortar experience. This would help us plan ways to improve Perry's brick and mortar experience.
Next, we identified which of the PRIZM profiles Perry's need to cater the most to. This profile represents The Innovators.
After that, we conducted industry research to create a trend report on fashion and market trends for Fall 2018. We analyzed this information to develop an internal strategy to drive sales.
Following that, we used the 4% increase to plan our sales, markdowns, turnover, and stock to sales ratio in order to complete a six-month plan.
To finalize this project, we also sampled a vendor order sheet.
