DVF Line Sheets

When I picture myself in the future,

I see a DVF girl.

I see myself flirty, corporate, and chic, as I’m walking through Central Park. I sip my coffee on my lunch break during a tiring yet successful day at work.

Who better to wear than DVF? Diane Von Furstenberg, known for her wrap dress, is my brand of choice.

I personally have been a fan since her show, House of DVF, aired on E! Her clothing spoke to me, because I have always wanted to be the girl in a corporate office that stands out. Someone who stays in dress code while looking fashionable. Someone in a Chanel suit jacket and matching skirt. So when I saw her wrap dresses and jumpsuits, I knew she was someone I would want to buy from in the future.

For this project, I chose Dubai as my culture to collaborate with DVF. I’m really intrigued with their economic status and how US luxuries are a common site there. Their unique petting zoos, grand buildings, clear waters, and luxurious police cars have rapidly grabbed my attention. Their culture is so rich and I am beyond intrigued with their ability to mix 2017 modern infrastructure with their original culture and religion.

For my first icon (below), I chose a camel because I had envisioned a pattern that DVF has used before and knew I could recreate it with the the camel. I will use a brick by column fill, thin stroke, and full opacity because DVF prints are bold. I plan for my client to wear this pattern in wrap dresses and skirts.

For this icon (below), I picked a design from the dome of a mosque, because I had also envisioned a pattern from it. I plan on creating my own fill somehow and if not I will find the fill that emulates my vision the best, along with a thicker stroke than the camel, and full opacity. I also see my client wearing this pattern in wrap dresses and skirts; also purses.

For this last icon (below), I picked this from inside the tallest building and hotel in the world. I saw this pattern immediately and knew I wanted to experiment with it. I plan on finding a way to make a pattern that will repeat the downward motion, with an upward motion next to it to create these alternating V’s. The stroke will be thin, to help focus the eye on the color and the simply complex pattern. The opacity will be full and might have a shadowing V with a lower opacity. I see the client wearing a shirt and pant with this pattern.
